Episode 53: The Straight Shootin' View Episode 38 - 3 + 5 subs = 9 on the bench

Player welfare and the packed schedule for the 2020/21 season has been a controversial issue and recently Premier League clubs were deadlocked in the voting to raise the number of subs from 3-5 so the number will remain at 3, but the amount of players named on the bench has risen to 9.
In this episode Straight Shootin' LJA discusses the deadlocked voting and the fact that it is to the detriment of every club (and has already been with the amount of injuries going up by 30% in comparison to the season before), along with the fact that managers such as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had been vocal in opposition to keeping the amount at 3.

Millwall fans booing their own players taking the knee, how much damage does this kind of action cause to the fight for equality?
In this episode Straight Shootin' LJA discusses the issue of some Millwall fans feeling that it was appropriate to boo the taking of the knee before their EFL Championship match with Derby County on September 5th 2020.
SSLJA discusses the fallout to this incident including Millwall as a club being slow to react & condemn the booing fans, the EFL's reaction and Simon Jordan seeming to almost advocate the actions and Millwall fans seemingly changing their minds a few days later by applauding the taking of the knee vs QPR on Tuesday 8th December 2020.

Episode 51: The Straight Shootin' View Episode 36 - Blaming VAR? Wrong Target

In this episode of the Straight Shootin' View SSLJA discusses VAR & takes aim at those fans and entities constantly blaming the technology for not just poor refereeing decisions, but the grey areas around rules and laws of the game such as the interpretation of the handball rule, enforcement of laws of the game such as yellow cards for diving and more.
SSLJA argues that those blaming VAR may not get the purpose of VAR and argues that VAR could be 100% successful, but is being held back by human error and the powers that be in the game (such as broadcasters) want it to stay that way, as they make money from the controversy, but it's holding football in England back.
